This house fire occurred right next to Bernice’s house, near the North Street Cabaret! Luckily no one was hurt, and there was only minor damage!

Incident:  Residential Structure Fire

Cause:  Misuse of a candle

Displaced Residents:  One resident

Brief Summary: 

·         911 Callers reported smoke coming from the residence and they could see flames inside the residence.   Medic 8 (Lien Road Fire Station) arrived on location first and began to search the residence.  Engine 3 (Williamson Street Fire Station) arrived on location 2nd and entered the residence with a hose line to attack the fire which originated in a bedroom with extension to the kitchen.  The fire was brought under control quickly.  There were no injuries to residents or firefighters.

– Carts in Madison Parks! The City of Madison has been awarded a $50,000 Street for Pandemic Response and Recovery grant through the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) to launch a Carts in Parks Vending Pilot Program this summer into fall! This program will provide daily food cart vending in 20 parks around Madison, support community-driven micro vending markets, reduce the barriers to vending in city parks, provide greater food access, and enhance our community gathering spaces.
